Private lessons are the perfect way to learn Mahjong in a relaxed, social setting - right in the comfort of your home or chosen space! Enjoy personalized instruction tailored to your group while building skills, sharing laughs, and connecting over this timeless game.

Held at your home or venue of choice within the Tampa Bay area.
INVESTMENT:
- $267 per person | Mahjong Beginner Series (2 lessons, 2 hours each)
- $227 per person | Mahjong Beginner Intensive (1 lesson, 3 hours)
This pricing and minimum group size of 4 players applies to locations within 20 miles of ZIP code 33707 (St. Petersburg, FL). For locations beyond this area in the Tampa Bay region, the same pricing applies with a minimum group of 8 players.

Each private lesson is hands-on, personalized, and fun! You’ll enjoy focused guidance designed to help you learn quickly and confidently - no prior experience required.
LESSON NOTES:
I bring everything needed for a complete Mahjong setup - tiles, racks, mats, and teaching materials - and you provide the tables, chairs, and a few refreshments for your guests. Every student receives my custom handouts to make learning simple and keep the fun going after class.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Minimum group size: 4 players, but you can add as many as you’d like - 5, 6, or more in your group are welcome! You can have an odd number of attendees, as long as you have 4 to start.
- Fee shown is per person for the full 2-class series or the 1-class intensive.
- Registrations are non-refundable; please make every effort to attend your scheduled session. In the event of an emergency, you may send someone in your place, or I’ll do my best to help you reschedule.

Mahjong 101 - Getting Started
Ready to finally learn what all the Mahjong buzz is about? Join us for Mahjong 101, a fun and friendly two-hour intro class designed for beginners to get you playing with confidence - no experience needed!
In this class, you’ll learn the basics of American Mahjong through a hands-on format. You’ll leave with a helpful take-home summary… and a brand-new obsession!
👉 This is the first class in a 2-part series. Be sure to also register for Mahjong 102 to complete your learning and start playing with confidence!
Mahjong 102 - Leveling Up
If you’ve taken my Mahjong 101 class (or have dabbled in the game but haven’t quite cracked the code), it’s time to take the next step with Mahjong 102!
Mahjong 102 starts with a quick review of the material covered in 101 and continues with the finer points of etiquette/sportsmanship, rules, tips, and strategy. Well also do guided play.
Mahjong 103 - Winning Strategies
Ready to take your Mahjong skills to the next level? Mahjong 103 is all about mastering strategies and techniques to boost your confidence and refine your gameplay.
In this class, we’ll dive deep into the nuances of the Charleston, explore how to play defensively and discover tactics to read the game and outsmart your opponents. Master the NMJL Card
Ready to decode this year’s National Mahjong League card? This class is for players who already know the basics and want to sharpen their strategy, understand hand groupings, and confidently navigate pivots and patterns. We’ll break it all down so you can play smarter, spot opportunities faster, and feel totally in sync with the card. Bring your questions — and your card!
Guided Play Practice
This relaxed, supportive session is perfect for players who know the basics but want more hands-on experience. You'll play real games with gentle guidance along the way — think tips, strategy nudges, and help making confident decisions at the table. It’s all about building skills, asking questions, and getting comfortable while you play.
Tournament Prep
Thinking about joining a Mahjong tournament but feeling a little intimidated? This class is for you! Designed for independent players who are curious about competitive play, this session walks you through exactly what to expect - from scoring and timing to rules, etiquette, and pacing. Tournament games are a bit more fast-paced and focused than your usual social match, but with the right prep, they can be incredibly fun and rewarding.

Great question! Learning Mahjong can feel intimidating, and I don’t take lightly the trust you place in me as your teacher. I’m not only a Certified American Mahjong Instructor, but I also went the extra mile to study how to teach well. I sought out training from seasoned authorities, learning what works - and what doesn’t - so I could create my signature Mahjong Made Simple method.
The Mahjong community has noticed, too - I was honored to be nominated as a 2025 Favorite Instructor by the American Mah Jongg Association.
